The Father James B. O’Donnell OSA Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Assembly 393 has established a scholarship fund in honor of the late Monsignor Joseph P. Burke. The fund shall provide educational assistance to students attending or planning on attending a Catholic high school or Catholic university.
The Monsignor Joseph P. Burke Memorial Scholarship
Purpose: The Father James B. O’Donnell OSA Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Assembly 393 has established a scholarship fund in honor of the late Monsignor Joseph P. Burke. The fund shall provide educational assistance to students attending or planning on attending a Catholic high school, or as a full‐ time student at a Catholic college or university (up to a bachelor’s degree).
Eligibility: Applicants must be either a child or grandchild by birth or adoption of a member of Assembly 393 in good financial standing. Each applicant shall submit with their application a copy of their most recent grade transcript signed by the appropriate School Officer (Elementary, High or College) with proof of their attendance or acceptance at a Catholic school. To be eligible to receive an award, the student’s cumulative, weighted grade average (GPA or equivalent) must be at least 80% for the immediately prior academic year. Other information, including but not limited to either academics or service, but relevant to this application will be considered. (Include additional page(s) with this application if necessary.)
This eligibility extends for a period to include the 1st year of Catholic High School to Bachelor’s Degree in a Catholic College or University.
Due Date: Applications must be received by the Assembly either via email (preferred), mail to our PO Box, or hand delivered to the Faithful Navigator no later than 15 days after the end of the school year.
Amount: The number of scholarships and amounts vary from year‐to‐year based upon available resources and the discretion of the Trustees and the Faithful Navigator.
